Burgundy Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This colossal tree grows up to 127 meters (416.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 198 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in delicate, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale yellow.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of sticky, miniature, very thin leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally pale blue.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, olive blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like onion.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, blood red, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
