Amber Pleatflower

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its orange stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are wispy and straight, and split into many branching stems at the top, and the miniature, amber leaves are pleated with toothed edges. 25 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are pink on the underside and beige on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 37 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has an intense scent that smells like chocolate, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
