Magenta Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 23 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, very thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either dull yellow, or magenta with peach streaks.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, florescent orange blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like marzipan.

In early summer it produces small, 3 pointed fruit. The leathery deep purple skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy magenta flesh is sweet and spicy and powdery. The washed-out yellow seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
