Clinging Firebloom

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the small, turquoise leaves are thick with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Lots of medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, with beige petals and a dark orange central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of 18 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a powerful scent that smells like old books, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
