Vineberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 41 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, slanted trunk covered in fine, rough, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small bunches of miniature, 5 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are light brown with deep green tips.

In early spring, it produces clusters of large, indigo blossoms with wide petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like pine needles.

In early summer it produces tiny, long, curved fruit. The crispy purple skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft magenta flesh is sour and very juicy. The brown seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The leaves are bland but very healthy.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is bio-luminescent.
