Burgundy-Brown Rasheroot
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 30 meters (98.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 397 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy-brown.
The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of clammy, tiny, spear shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid purple with magenta zig-zags.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, gold, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
The sap causes severe rashes
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
