Caramel Flower
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its blood red stem is wispy and straight, and the huge, pink-red leaves are broad, flat with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
Dozens of tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with petals that are either caramel or indigo, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 54 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like meat, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
