Crimson Ash

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 165 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thin, knobbly, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The thin clumps of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of leathery, huge, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid crimson with crimson splotches.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
