Crimson Glowfern
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This big tree grows up to 82 meters (269.0 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, dark brown bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.
The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of miniature, pink-red needles. The needles themselves are delicate.
In late summer it produces small, sky blue aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
The sap is bronze.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is bio-luminescent.
