Copperleaf Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3900 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.

The small clumps of branches trail down towards the ground, covered with very large amounts of large, copper needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, lime, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making paper
