Crimson Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short vine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 10 feet (3.0 meters) and growing as high as 83 feet (25.3 meters).

It takes 9 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are flat and wavy.

The finger-like, soft leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are copper and crimson, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of average faded yellow flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces lots of very large berries.
