Bluebellvine

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 31 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous stocky, twisting stems covered in fine, cracked, dark green bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, very thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid bright blue or slate, with silver zig-zags, durable and smooth.

In early summer it produces a thick sheet of small, black flowers with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like meat.
