Blackbark

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This large tree grows up to 87 meters (285.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 545 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in very thick, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is light brown.

The small handful of branches are long and thin and are covered with handfuls of waxy, huge, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in azure and white varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, pink blossoms with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like mint.

In late summer it forms small, white seed pods.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for making strong rope
