Clinging Spearflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow and green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 3 and are wispy and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the giant, orange leaves are light bronze or drab red on the underside and are spear shaped with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Around 50 giant flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are either brown or indigo, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. They fall easily.
It has a strong scent that smells like fruity, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
