Burgundy Needle Tree

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 296 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in fine, ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with thick bunches of giant, red needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, caramel berries.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
