Clinging Golden Cottonflower

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is wispy, and the small, gray-green leaves are light yellow on the underside and are broad, flat with toothed edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 5 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally gold; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has a strong scent that smells like cotton, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
