Copperleaf
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized tree grows up to 8 meters (26.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 483 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.
The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of smooth, tiny, very thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of hazel or green that gradient shifts to orange at the top.
In late summer it forms small, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
