Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This colossal tree grows up to 98 meters (321.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 184 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of leathery, tiny, finger-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise and caramel.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, grey seed pods.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for making strong rope
