Butterfly Bloom

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its orange stem is very thin, and the large, gray leaves are dark moss green on the underside and are thick with irregular edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are either caramel or red, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 53 petals. They detach easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like sweat, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
