Clingvine Oak
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This large tree grows up to 81 meters (265.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 480 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in thin, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the dense wood is black with white speckles.
The small bunches of branches are long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, giant, very thick leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either indigo or deep blue, with caramel zig-zags.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, green blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like cotton.
In late summer it forms large, grey aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
