Climbing Indigo Vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 30 feet (9.1 meters) and growing as high as 687 feet (209.4 meters).
It takes 11 months for the lime green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are tough and woody.
The long, tapering, waxy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are indigo on the edges and bronze at the center, and have toothed edges.
During late spring, the vine produces large amounts of small gold flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of very large berries.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
