Magenta Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This large cactus grows up to 91 feet (27.7 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 needle-like stems. Each stem is burgundy, and is covered in sharp spines. The spherical body is silver or caramel, and is covered in many flexible magenta spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 18 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with vivid yellow petals and a turquoise central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 52 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like rich perfume.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the peach flesh is slimy, and the beige sap is thin.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
