Bloodwood Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 274 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in hard, waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The small handful of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of rough, tiny, 9 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are red on the edges and blood red at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, brown berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
