Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (53 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is thin, and the small, pink-red leaves are very narrow and elongated with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of raised narrow petals. They are very delicate.
