Copper Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 spear shaped stems. Each stem is copper, and is covered in handfuls of flexible peach spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are pale yellow at the sides and white at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has no scent.

The cactus's skin is thick, the muted green flesh is smooth, and the magenta sap is thin.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
