Thornleaf Agave

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This large leaf succulent grows up to 95 feet (29.0 meters) tall. The thin stem is green, and is covered in sharp spines. The irregular-edged, thin leaves are lime green with subtle green tips. Small amounts of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are delicate, and easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are cyan at the sides and yellow at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of several raised, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like roses.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the brown flesh is rough, and the caramel sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
