Grappler Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 613 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in silky, light brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black.
The small clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small amounts of rough, large, sickle shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are green and lilac.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of small, brown blossoms with circular petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like meat.
In late summer it forms small, crimson berries.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
