Ashen Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 53 meters (173.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 619 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in hard, silky, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.
The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of waxy, large, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gold and bronze.
In early spring, it produces many bunches of small, vibrant red blossoms with circular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like ashes.
In late summer it forms tiny, yellow, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
