Crimson Twistvine

This colossal bine is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 557 feet (169.8 meters) and growing as high as 898 feet (273.7 meters).

It takes 35 years for the crimson stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 9 inches (23 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The slender, pointed, clammy leaves reach up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) in length. They are turquoise and drab purple, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the bine produces balls of tiny black flowers.
