Climbing Whispervine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its gray stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are wispy with ripped edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

2 to 7 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are amber on the edges and olive at the center. The flower head is made up of 7 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. They are very delicate.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like old shoes, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
