Clinging Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in hard, rough, gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of sticky, miniature, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either sky blue or orange, with silver patches.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, peach blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like chocolate.

In late summer it forms large, violet berries.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
