Twistvine
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 100 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in fine, ridged, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.
The sparse amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with very large amounts of clammy, miniature, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are dark brown at the bottom and intense purple with green splotches at the top.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, bronze blossoms with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like apple.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, dark brown, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
