Waterstem Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 23 meters (75.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 111 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, light gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are long and slender and are covered with small bunches of smooth, huge, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate with lime tips.

In late summer it forms tiny, pink aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
