Copperleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This average-sized tree grows up to 32 meters (105.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 410 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in fine, rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is brown.

The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of soft, huge, 2 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant purple on the edges and red at the center.

In late summer it forms tiny, drab yellow, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for making paper
