Clinging Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big tree grows up to 85 meters (278.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 66 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in hard, rough, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.

The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of waxy, miniature, sickle shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are pink on the sides and green at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, gentle yellow seed pods.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
