Climbing Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 19 meters (62.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 662 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in fine, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and inside, the light wood is gray.

The abundance of branches are very long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of soft, giant, perforated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally olive.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, slate blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like chocolate.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, cream, shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The leaves are very toxic, and very sweet.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
