Lightning Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 28 feet (8.5 meters)0.

It takes 8 months for the gray and olive stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The wispy, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are found in lime, pink and brilliant purple varieties, and have tattered edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of small copper flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of small berries.

It is frequently struck by lightning.
