Thickstem Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small, brown grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in sparse patches that are durable.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, pink tuft.

During the late autumn, it produces an average amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of medium-sized grains.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
