Climbing Azure Blossom

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. Its sky blue stem is very thin and straight, and the giant, silver leaves are dark lime green and moss green on the underside and are wispy with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two large flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with alternating petals of bronze and azure, with a purple central disk. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of handfuls of tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like ashes, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
