Copperstem Flower
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This big flower grows up to 3.8 feet (1.1 meters) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 4 and are thin with a curved tip, and the giant, yellow-green leaves are light yellow-green on the underside and are thick with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Around 20 giant flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide, with petals that are either vibrant orange or green, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 53 curved petals. They detach easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like warm cookies, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
The leaves are slightly toxic, and very sour.
