Crackbark Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This colossal tree grows up to 97 meters (318.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 428 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, wonky trunk covered in delicate, cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is white.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of covered in fine hairs, giant, perforated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either white, or olive with indigo zig-zags.

In late summer it forms tiny, florescent blue aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
