Emerald Shield Moss

This cream moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On trees, In moorlands, and In marshes.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly tough; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
