Copper Moorland Moss

This copper moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly frail; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores.
