Whispering Willow
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This colossal fruit tree grows up to 71 feet (21.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 23 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.
The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, cylindrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in grey, orange and sky blue varieties.
In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, light grey blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like musk.
In late summer it produces small, fan-like fruit. The soft olive skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy white flesh is sweet and bitter and juicy. The grey seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for making strong rope
