Bloodberry Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 431 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thin, ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy, covered with copious amounts of tiny, yellow needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces tiny, blood red berries.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
