Serpentwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized tree grows up to 30 meters (98.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 343 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in hard, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow-brown.
The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of smooth, huge, 6 pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either beige or white, with olive streaks.
In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, sky blue blossoms with 9 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like chocolate.
In late summer it forms tiny, magenta berries.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
