Climbing Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big tree grows up to 73 meters (239.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 77 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, curved trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, black bark, and inside, the dense wood is light brown.
The branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of smooth, miniature, thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or blood red, with peach dots.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of large, cyan blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like cinnamon.
In late summer it forms large, white, shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
