Emerald Blood

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This large flower grows up to 5.1 feet (1.5 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is very thick, and the giant, green leaves are very thin with rounded edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

6 to 9 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with cream petals and a blood red central disk. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like lavender, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
