This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 11 feet (3.4 meters)0. It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 10 months for the slate and bold yellow stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are smooth and rubbery.

During late spring, the vine produces clusters of large beige flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of small fruits.
