Blackvine
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 644 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in cracked, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.
The excessive amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with sparse amounts of soft, huge, long, tapering leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are cream and beige.
In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, vivid blue blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like coconut.
In late summer it forms tiny, white, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
